How do you access a server log?

How do you access a server log?

I have a web site, and I would like to know who is accessing the site.
Is there a way of determining who is accessing a site by checking the
server logs?  How is this done?

Well, you can just read it... But the best way is to get one of the programs
that does it for you. My favourite is analog. That could be because I wrote it.
You can get it from
  http://www.gamesdomain.com/analog/

I'm a bit worried about the use of the word "who" in your question. The best
you can do is tell which machines people have come from, not which user at
that machine has come.
