Apache User Authentication

Post by APPANAH Rav » Thu, 07 Oct 1999 04:00:00

Hello...

    I've installed an Apache 1.3.4 (+mod perl.1.18 and php 3.0.11) on a
RH6.0 system...
I have a .htpasswd and .htgroup for managing users and groups...
I have a .htaccess file in each protected directory...
A user is allow to access to serveral protected diectories...He will
have to enter his password each times he requests a page in a protected
directory...
Is there a solution to remember the user password so that he will
not have to re-enter his password when he accesses to different
directories.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
        Ravi APPANAH

If the realm (Apache: Authname) is the same for two protected areas,
then the browser will retry the same credentials.
