Apache & acrobat & explorer

Post by Chris Warne » Sun, 28 Jan 2001 09:43:44

I have a web hosting client that has .pdf files on there site, these all
work fine within netscape however in explorer they either lock up the
browser, don't load at all or give funny charaters.  Anybody now how to
solve this?  He is on a nother server that is linux based running a
sphera and doesn't have this problem, we are running apache 1.3.14 on
solaris 7.  The plugin is version 4 and the browser is explorer 5.5

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Apache 1.3.14 has a known bug with "byteserving" that causes
it to*up PDF files.  A new version which fixes this should
be out in a few days.  Alternatively, I have seen a report that
BrowserMatch MSIE nokeepalive
will work as a work-around.

Thanks, looks like that's got it.  I'll keep an eye out for the update.

1. PERL && mod_perl && FreeBSD && Apache

k, I don't know where this falls under or who I should be asking... but
here's my problem.

mod_perl port installed Perl modules in
'/usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/i386-freebsd/Apache/' but didn't

have to rebuild the system perl components? the mod_perl? or is there a conf
file somewhere that I cannot find?

could 'mv' everything as well... but I would like to hear some other
opinions or options.

Thanks
