Very Computer

Hi everybody,

I installed apache 1.3.3 for linux, and i'm having problems.

It compiled correctly, with no errors, i started the deamon as per the
instructions, however if i try to access my machine, i get a Forbidden
you do not have permission to access / on this machine( 403 error).
i think its something in my access.conf file, i've tried everything i
can think of and still can get it to work. my directory permission are
set correctly, and the test page from apache gives me the same
error.(the if you see this it worked page)

I've installed older versions and never had this problem... Please help!

The new versions (1.3.2 and above) lock everything by default;
you have to explicitly unlock DocRoot, etc.

See the docs regarding httpd.conf for more info...
