Server's avaliable for Windows '95

Post by Josep » Thu, 31 Aug 1995 04:00:00

   Currently our company is looking into web server software.  I have
checked in CERN and may others but would like to stay NATIVE! Windows '95!
Does anyone know of a server package which will run on the Windows '95
platform.  Unix's 32bit platform would most likely be the best for a web
server but if Windows '95 's 32bit platform works nearly as well, it would
be worth it to us to keep the company NATIVE.  Thanks for your feedback!

                                                   Best Regards,

                                                   JC

Are you saying there is not currently a 32bit WIN95 version of any server
software and we would have to wait until next year if we want to stay with
win95?  Thanks for the clarification!

1. configuring a Samba server for Windows 95/98 pc's

I have been trying to set up a Samba server on my Suse Linux 6.1 PC, but it
doesn't really work.
When I type "./smb start" I get "FAILED".
In the log file for samba there is an error called;
"bind failed on port 139 socket_addr=0.0.0.0"

What is going wrong and how do I set up a real Samba server
