1. spanning a shell that doesn't return when process is finished?
howdy
i need to write a script which in some cases will call xterm with its
-e (execute) option followed by a program to be executed. But I don't
wish the shell to return as soon as that process finishes, since that
would lead the terminal app's window to close immediately without
allowing the user to see the output. How can I do this without
explicitly requiring, eg, a key press from the user? Another good
solution would be to offer the user a shell in that same xterm once the
original process returns.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
