Compiling Apache 1.1.1

Compiling Apache 1.1.1

Post by sham khali » Sat, 19 Oct 1996 04:00:00

I just down load Apache 1.1.1 and I got problem getting it compiled.

I plan to install apache on my Linux box 1.2.13.  I've DL the manual also
but it seem too brief on the compiling instruction.  I list below what I
have done.

1.  Uncompressing the source into /apache_1.1.1
2.  Editing the Configuration file.
For the compiler, I unmark the 'CC= gcc
For HostnameLookup, I unmark the 'HostnameLookUp On
For the system flags, I unmark the ' AUX_CFLAGS= -DLINUX
3.  Save the file and run configure:

        # % Configure
         fg: No Such Job %

I got this error and try this:

        # Configure
Using Configuration file as config file
Syntax error --- each config file command must either be
set a Makefile option or configure a module (giving a module
name and a filename)  This doesn't appear to be doing either
         HostnameLooUp on
         Module config_log_module mod_log_config.o
          ....

At this point I'm really stuck.. Anybody who offers help would be
appreciated.
Thank

HostnameLooUp on     <-- (there seems to be a typo there, too)
is obsolete in apache 1.1.1
remove it and set it in httpd.conf, instead

1. Compile options for IBM (compiling Apache Source Code)

Hi,

Do I need special compile options for compiling Apache code for
target OS as IBM, like "-mt" for Sun Compiler ???

Similarly What EXTRA_LIBS are required for IBM ?

Lastly, for compiling my  Integrator Shared Object , what compiler
options I
should
use for target OS of IBM ?

Thanks
