On a Sun/Solaris 2.6 machine, installed the Apache Web Server, version
1.3.6, and set the following 2 directives:
ServerName host.some_domain.com
Port 80
Where host.some_domain.com maps to a valid DNS entry.
I started it and everything worked fine. Then it was decided to change
our URL to:
new_host.some_domain.com
It is also a DNS entry and has its own IP address. My goal is to make
the URL: host.some_domain.com
inaccessible, that is, if users try to go to it, the message " server
refuses connection " appears.
To accomodate these changes, I changed the ServerName directive in
httpd.conf
from: ServerName host.some_domain.com
to: ServerName new_host.some_domain.com
and stopped and started the Apache Web server. However, now both the
old and the new URL accept
connections. They are indistinguishable from each other ?
What am I doing wrong here ?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you,
Annette
