I'm trying to decide between Linux and FreeBSD for a WWW server, and I was
wondering if there are any utilities (for Linux or FreeBSD) that will
benchmark a server. Basically, I'm looking for something to just thrash the
machine with lots of HTTP connections and see how well it handles the load.
I may end up writing something that just downloads server's entire
tree or something and do a wallclock timing on that if all else fails.
thanks,
