Hi there ....

i tried to compile an ssl apache but I get the following error:

/usr/src/openssl-0.9.3a/include/openssl/des.h:96: #error "_ is defined,
but some strange definition the DES library cannot handle that."
/usr/src/openssl-0.9.3a/include/openssl/des.h:98: warning: `_' redefined
/usr/lib/perl5/5.00502/i586-linux/CORE/config.h:1101: warning: this is
the location of the previous definition
make[4]: *** [mod_perl.o] Error 1
make[3]: *** [all] Error 1
make[2]: *** [subdirs] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/apache_1.3.6/src'
make[1]: *** [build-std] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/apache_1.3.6'
make: *** [build] Error 2

I did a

./configure --activate-module=src/modules/perl/libperl.a --activate-
module=src/modules/php3/libphp3.a --enable-module=info --enable-
module=rewrite

does anyone know why?

Retry with OpenSSL 0.9.4. This problem should be fixed.
