Apache 1.3.12 LoadModule error

Apache 1.3.12 LoadModule error

Post by Brian Fin » Thu, 16 Nov 2000 04:00:00

We are getting an error when trying to use the LoadModule in Apache
1.3.12 (RH 6.0)to load informix's explode.so. The following error
occurs:

Syntax error on line 939 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Invalid command 'LoadModule', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a
module not in
luded in the server configuration
./apachectl start: httpd could not be started

If I run httpd -l I get:
   Compiled-in modules:
     http_core.c
     mod_so.c
so mod_so.c is in there.

We did have to abandon the binary copy and install Apache from scratch.

Any help is appreciated.

TIA

I am getting the same error.  I am using Mandrake 7.2.  I've
configured everything correctly, using the --with-layout=RedHat
option which conforms to the Mandrake structures.

Anyone know a solution?

Thank you!

You need to compile in mod_so (it's not there by default).

Apache 1.3.12 LoadModule error

Post by Brian Fin » Tue, 21 Nov 2000 04:00:00

Got the following suggestion from one of our vendors which solved the
problem:

      configure --enable-module_so --prefix='path'

This command is slightly different than the documentation I could find
and was the only one to work correctly. The listing from httpd -l shows
the same modules as before but the loadModule command works now. Go
figure.

Now I am running into the Segmentation fault error. One step at a
time...

1. Problems installing Apache 1.3.12 & ApacheJServ 1.1.12

Machine Spec: Celeron Processor 400MHZ
Operating System: Linux Mandrake 7.0 Complete

I am using the "INSTALL" docs that came with ApacheJServ 1.1.12 and
trying to
build Apache with ApacheJServ support in it from the source files.

The doc has said to

./configure \
--prefix=/usr/local/apache
--activate-module=src/modules/jserv/libjserv.a
make
make install

Problem is I cannot find the file libjserv.a or mod_jserv.c in the
Apache 1.3.12 directory or any of its subdirectories.

The C files are in ApacheJServ 1.1.12 including mod_jserv.c but there is
no
libjserv.a only the file libjserv.module. Are these files equivalent???

Can someone please tell me what to do to configure Apache to work with
Apachejserv support please.

Thanks

Everill
