I'm a newbie at compiling/configuring packages, please be gentle :o) I'm
only posting this here cos phpbuilder.com's support forum hasn't been
working since yesterday, and I need to do this quickly.

Also, will I need to move some files (.so files?) from the Oracle
distribution to the compile area?

Get the latest php source (3.0.11) unpack it and read the enclosed
documentation - it has details about how to compile for RedHat and which
bits you will need from Oracle (if required)

ps The is no easier solution as far as I am aware - but you will learn alot
doing it this way.

:contain source code). Where should I unpack and compile the source, and
:how would I make sure that the Apache binary will be output to the same
:place it is now? Or do I not need to worry about that, can I just
:compile it anywhere then cp the new executable over my old one?
