Obtain the date of "last modification" ?

Post by Manel NOSPAM Roder » Fri, 12 Feb 1999 04:00:00

Hi,

In our web pages we have a function like this one:
When this page is obtained from a web server (Apache/CERN) we can see
the following:

Darrera modificaci: 12/28/98 12:14:00

BUT if this page is obtained from a NETSCAPE Enterprise Server 3.5.1 the
result is:

Darrera modificaci: 01/01/70 01:00:00

WHY the date is 1970? What must I look for to solve this problem? Any
idea?

PS: The 2 servers are in UNIX machines ...

Please write to my e-mail address below:

That date corresponds to a time of 0. That may get you started.

If you want email replies don't break peoples' reply functions by using
bogus email addresses. If you don't want spam, that's OK, but don't expect
people you are asking favors of, to waste there time manually figuring out
how to send email back to you.

you need to manually inspect the actual date of last modification of the
filesystem to see if it is a Netscape or a system problem. look at the
manual page for ls
