APACHE 1.1.1 httpd.conf and the "httpd -f ..." option

Hello!

On our Challenge S (IRIX 5.3) we start APACHE from inetd.conf,
httpd.conf says Server Type inetd.

Unfortunately, even though we try to invoke httpd with "-f
/foo/bar/conf/httpd.conf", the server responds to any questions with

"httpd: could not open document config file
/usr/local/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf fopen: No such file".

So we have to softlink /usr/local/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf to
/foo/bar/conf/httpd.conf.

Any ideas would be HELPFUL

1. HTTPd 1.5 dumps core when httpd.conf has "Group #-1"

Hi,
I've compiled HTTPd 1.5 in NCR's svr4 and when I run the daemon
as root, it just dumps core. I had to change "Group #-1" to
"Group nogroup" and create a new entry "nogroup:*:32766:" in
the /etc/group file. I just copied 32766 from my provider but
I think the group number can be any except the existing ones.

        My questions are:

        1. Is this secure as if I had "Group #-1" in httpd.conf?
        2. Is not being able to handle the line "Group #-1" a problem
           with my compiler or HTTPd?

        Pls. post or email. Thanks!
John
