hello all, am a newbie, please forgive me:-)
- have suse7.2, keep getting "unused" error when i run "rcapache status" |
"rcapache start" says that apache is running.
(originally i had found this page:
http://sdb.suse.de/sdb/en/html/hmeyer_apache_php4.html  that solved the
problem, but i found a makesite script that i ran to make virtual hosts
w/dns entries and i rebooted, then rcapache now says the same thing tho i
rpm'd -e authldap .....)

- tried "apachectl start" says "/usr/sbin/apachectl start: httpd could not
be started"
- "apachectl status" says "making http connection to localhost. Alert!:
unable to connecto to remote host.
lynx: can't access startfile http://localhost/server-status"

could someone point me in the right direction? many many thanks to all those
that share knowledge to make the world a better place..... :-)

apachectl /suse7.2/rcapache "unused" /php4 module / authldap module

Hi,

I have the same problem when I install Apache with the php4 module. After
desinstalling the module php4 the apache server works fine.  Meanwhile I
regrate that I bought the Linux 7.2 Enterprise edition!

I tried many things but was unable to make working PHP4 with Apache.
I contacted the Suse technical support in Germany and a technician, Francois
WAGNER, answered me by e-mail telling me that I shurely installed some
concurent version of Apache!
This information didn't helped me at all!  Next timeI will buy an Mandrake
or Red Had Linux.

I reinstalled Suse Linux 7.2 several times in different ways but php4 never
woreked!
If somebody else could help me?

On my first computer I installed Windows 98 +++++ and on my second computer
I just want to create a local server (Apache + php4 +mysql) that I use like
a developping platform accessing mostly over my first computer (RJ45...).

Regards, Meteor

1. Linux "unresolved symbols in module /lib/modules/2.0.29..."

Can anyone tell me how to find the libraries which contain symbols?  How do I
make sure that they are linked properly?  I have done "make dep; make clean",
I am about to try a "make modules".  Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Tom York
