1. Help with Apache SSL && Apache servers sharing content

Hello. I have a question I haven't been able to find an answer to yet. I'm
setting up several apache and apache ssl boxes. The plan is to have all the
dynamic content on several mod_perl Apache servers and all the static images
on a separate server. This much is done, and works fine. My question is,
can you use images from an http server on an https server. So if you're
on the secure server, and theres an <IMG SRC="http://whatever/foo.jpg"> tag,
should it work? Netscape's ssl server seems to be fine with serving the images,
however the apache ssl server shows the image as a key icon. If you view the
source, the tag is correct, however if you try to view the image, it comes up
as internal-icon-insecure.

Now, the question is, should I be doing this at all? I realize you'll get a
message about secure and insecure elements on the page. Beyond that, is there
a specific reason to not do this? Or why I'm seeing this behavior? Thanks in
advance for any insight. Please CC me in case I miss something here. My news
feed isn't the greatest thing in the world right now.
