We are running the CERN 3.0 web server on HP-UX 9. We now have a
requirement to connect to secure web sites on port 443.
The problem is that any time we try to connect through our current
server running on Port 80 we get the following error in the error log :-
Invalid request
"CONNECT merchant.superlibrary.com:443 HTTP/1.0" (unknown method) (400)
"CONNECT merchant.superlibrary.com:443 HTTP/1.0"
I've tried setting up another web server on port 443 using another
config file but the browser still use the server on port 80 and get the
error above.
Has anyone out there seen this before and if so how do we get round it?
BTW My ideal answer would be to use Apache but this isn't possible on
our firewall at the moment.
