I have just completed a (seemingly) good install of Apache 2.0.45 on
Solaris 8. When I come to start the service with eithe apachectl start
or httpd -k start then the command just hangs and does not return to
the command prompt. All installation and config is default.
Any ideas please ?

1. apachectl start: httpd could not be started on AIX 4.3.2
system:
IBM RS/6000 H70, 2gig Ram with SSA drives
AIX ver 4.3.2
Apache ver 1.3.14
After running the install-bindist.sh with no errors. I receveive the
follow error when I attempt to
start the Apache server (/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start ):

exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd
because of the following errors:
0509-023 Symbol dlsym in httpd is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol dlerror in httpd is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol dlopen in httpd is not defined.
0509-023 Symbol dlclose in httpd is not defined.
0509-026 System error: Cannot run a file that does not have
a valid format
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started

Could you please tell me how to correct this error or where to start
looking to help correct this error.
