Connection refused: Cannot connect to DBM server

Post by Alan Murrel » Sat, 16 Feb 2002 11:53:23

Hello All.

I have a site that includes a MySQL database.  The site, including the
parts the use the database, all work fine, or at least *seem* to, but
I noticed that my error_log has a lot of errors in it like this one:

[error] (111)Connection refused: Cannot connect to DBM server

Just to be sure, I did a "tail -f /var/log/httpd/error_log", and went
thru my site.  Sure enough, when I came to the part of the site that
used the database, the above error showed up in error_log, but
everything seems to be working fine (i.e., the data is being read
from and entered intot he database just fine).

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas why this error message would
be showing up?

Thanx, in advance!

1. lpr: connect: Connection refused jobs queued, but cannot start daemon.

lpr and/or lpd mysteriously stopped working.  I'm not sure why, as I haven't
tried printing for a couple of weeks.  I upgraded to Xfree 3.3.2 today,
libc 5.4.44 a while back.  Have tried kernels 2.0.34 and 2.1.108.  Yes, lpd
is running, and I know about the switch from lp1 to lp0.  I can cat something
to the printer, and also read back

CODE=10001
DISPLAY=PRINTER READY

I did a strace of an lpr command and got this: [abbreviated]
