Very Computer

HI

I was wondering if some one could help me find a good site or book to teach
me how to use UNIX to its fullest.

I have recently started working at a ISP and have allot of Internet
experience BUT I never spent any time learning UNIX and now find that is
what I am using most in my day ..

Any suggestions on where to begin climbing this mountain would be great

I find it difficult to answer your question because you do not qualify
your area(s) of concern. Unix is a big subject indeed.

Others will give their favorite books that they learned from; but as for
me I will just say: go to a bookstore specializing in technical books
(Computer Literacy bookstores are one) and simply look around. In the
beginning the quality of the book matters less than the fact that one
simply reads it and applys what she has learned.

Try "Unix in a nutshell" by O'Reilly & Associates. Copy I've got is
old (Don't even ask how old!) and they may have new improved version.

I think the environment can be well used by reading the book
"the unix programming environment" by kernighan and pike.
