script simulate keyboard <ctrl>+<key>?

Post by Intern » Wed, 18 Dec 1996 04:00:00

Has any one used a script to send <ctrl>+<somekey> keyboard
inputs?

I have a program which provides an interface via
<ctrl>+<somekey> keyboard input which I would like to
automate by a script.

Thanks in advance,
Michael

If you're writing your script in vi, you can "quote" the control
character with a <Cntrl-V><Character>. For example, a <Cntrl-V>
<Cntrl-C> will type in a <Cntrl-C> into your script. A <Cntrl-V>
<Esc> will put an escape character in your script, and of course,
a <Cntrl-V><Cntrl-V> will put a <Cntrl-V> in your script.

not the second.  Any ideas?
