BASHING

Post by Michael Taf » Sun, 23 Mar 2003 10:29:30

Hi,
I just installed Mandrake 9.0
Now I'm trying to install the java sdk.
I've done it on other machines before, and it was easy.
But now, after I change my .bashrc to contain the new PATH, and I give the
command:

Quote:> source .bashrc

I get the following response:

. bash: TMOUT readonly variable

What is going on here?
Why won't it let me do this?

Confused.
M.

It's set before, probably in /etc/profile to be readonly, you can't change it
from ~/.bashrc.
