anybody know the unix/shell command to download my mailbox?

i want to get my posted articles in case they disconnect my account.

not that there's any reason why they would, but one never knows.

please e-mail me if you know.

for example:  sman   was the command to download the manual.

When Osiris laid in the chest, Set sealed it up and cast it into the Nile.
Isis searched for the chest, eventually finding it in Byblos. When she freed
Osiris, Set found out and cut Osiris1 body into four* pieces and scattered
them. Isis found thir*, but could not find the four*th, Osiris1 phallus.

Is it your mail that you want to download, or articles that you posted on
Usenet?

You could try "sz /var/mail/yourname" to download your current incoming
mail.  For mail that you have already read, different mail programs use
different filenames.  Look for a file called "mbox" or a directory caleed
"mail" or "Mail".

For articles that you've posted to Usenet, you can always read them using
your next ISP account (and try not to do whatever it is that might get you
kicked off!)

1. evolution - local imap store and downloading from a remote pop mailbox ?

Hi,

I want to be able to use both a linux pc and a windows laptop to read /
write mails.
Currently, i use my linux pc and download my mails from my pop mailbox into
a local message store.

What i would like to do, is be able to convert my message store into a imap
mailbox that i can both access from evolution on linux, and outlook express
in windows. but i'm not sure how i must proceed ...

Do I need sendmail or postfix, or can I somehow just enter my provider's
smtp server into each client's settings ? the problem is: how do i get my
pop mail into my imap mailbox ?

Thx,

Tom.
