1. (Filtering || Shell script) question
Hi,
I have procmail set up on my system to sort all my messages in a nice,
handy, and logical manner in descriptive and aptly named folders. I also
have nice, handy scripts at home that will download said folders to my
home computer.
My problem?
With all the mail being sent to different folders (other than the usual
/var/spool/mail/kegranro), I have no way of knowing when I have new mail
short of logging in and checking the folders!
So what I need (want) to know is a way for procmail (or similar program)
to automagically insert a message into, say, my .plan, telling of the
new messages. With that, I would need only finger my account to see if
I have new mail... much easier then logging in needlessly.
Or maybe I'll need another script or program to handle that. Say, one that
will check the size of a file on a timely basis and if the size changes,
put said message into said .plan.
What do you think? Can it be done? Easily?
