need help learning Bash...

Post by theDO » Tue, 21 Sep 1999 04:00:00

I'm totaly new the the linux / BeOS world, and I need some help learning
and understanding BASH.

What are some good books for beginers?

Are ther any good www sites with info?

Scott Hacker did a good job outlining a few of the basic commands in the
"BeOS Bible"... but I need that kind of basic tutoring on the whole
shell.

TIA
Les

O'Reilly.  Bash is one of the animal books (Bash is a blue gill looking
fish.)  It goes from 'this is a prompt' to some of the most esoteric
stuff I've seen.  It's worth every penny.

Is there a proper fixed bash on any of the FTP sites out there?

I know there bash is on the usual sites but I don't know if they are
bugged or not :(

Regards,

Neil.
