How to set ulimit with bash?

Post by Todd Wrig » Wed, 05 Oct 1994 13:13:19

I am using bash 1.13.5 on my system (about to upgrade to 1.14.2) and have several processes that need to create files
bigger than 1MB, but the ulimit for file size is set to 1024 in bash and I cant find how to change it. Ive tried changing it
in login.defs, Ive tried in the gecos field of the /etc/passwd file, Ive even tried looking in the bash source code, but
no-where can I find where the various ulimits can be set!

Could some kind bash guru please tell me how to increase the filesize limit to say, 4096???

Regards

Is there a proper fixed bash on any of the FTP sites out there?

I know there bash is on the usual sites but I don't know if they are
bugged or not :(

Neil.
