Hi

I would like to know how I can have a coloured output in bash. eg. when
you execute an 'ls', the executables should be in a different color from
data files.

Try to issue ls --color=auto

do this

echo ls=\'ls --color\' >> $(echo $ENV) && bash

then you will permanetly set it to do color for the ls comand

if you want something more customizable do the above after
you move /etc/DIR_COLORS to ~/.dir_colors and edit it to your prefferances

Is there a proper fixed bash on any of the FTP sites out there?

I know there bash is on the usual sites but I don't know if they are
bugged or not :(
