tcsh and problems with AUTOLIST via the tab key

Has anyone ever experienced problems related to using the AUTOLIST
function in tcsh 6.0.6?  Specifically, I have been experiencing 2 types
of errors with autolist:
        1)  Pressing tab to autolist sometimes resets terminal and
            clears screen.
        2)  Pressing tab to autolist sometimes enables the alternate
            character set.

        This weirdness does not occur with AUTOLIST unset.  Neither
        of these occur if the tab key is pressed at a prompt with no
        text typed, I.E;

        /home/machine/user> <TAB>         -->  lists files OK all the time
        /home/machine/user> a-z,etc.<TAB> -->  Sometimes does weird stuff

        I did not experience these problems with tcsh 6.0.3.  Our server
        is a SPARC20 running SunOS 4.1.4.  Users generally telnet from
        PCs via PC-NFS and a terminal emulation program called PC-Vision,
        which emulates a vt300 terminal.

                                Any similar experiences or advice
                                greatly appreciated :-)

1. filename completion via tab, command history via cursor keys etc.

Hi,

I can get my hands on a solaris workstation at the office the next two
days. I noticed that the automatic filename completion when pressing the
tab key is not enabled. Also, the cursor keys, insert and delete keys
etc. just print out gibberish.

How can I configure certain keys to do what I want ? Command history is
also something that's lacking. I've been looking on the net to find
something useful but to no avail. It appears to me that these settings
have nothing to do with the shell I'm running (bourne). Couldn't find
anything on this in the bourne shell documentation.

Should I try the man pages for 'bindkey' and/or 'stty' ? When the
machine boots it defaults in CDE and I intend to keep on working in a
GUI environment.

Sorry if this is a newbee question but I have no Solaris experience
whatsoever, just a bit of Linux... In other words, any useful
information (URLs, docs, ...) is also welcome.

Regards,
