NTPv4: 500 ppm drift in AIX 4.2 (Need Help)

I installed and configured NTP v4.0.99k23 on two Escala Bulls running
AIX 4.2.1; they are configured as NTP clients sync'ing their time with 4

stratum 3's on our Intranet.  Now, I'm using the same ntp.conf on these
two Bulls as on two IBM RS/6000s running AIX 4.3.3 and two Suns running
Solaris 2.6.  The IBMs and Suns have excellent drift (< 10 ppm), as per
the ntp.drift file; however, the drift on the two Bulls is consistently
at 500 ppm.

I've tried increasing the poll period, but to no avail.  Has anyone had
a similar problem under AIX 4.2, and if so, how was it resolved?  Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Need AIX Expert's help: AIX 4.2 PPP setup

Hi AIX Expert,

I am trying to setup a PPP server on an AIX machine for dial-in internet
access (dial-in machines will be using Windows95). But I have not able to
get it to work yet. As far as I can tell, the modem and the tty is working
properly (i can dial-in and get the AIX login screen).

I have searched over the the Info-Explorer database but found little
information on how to setup the PPP. If you have successfully install a
working PPP server, please share your experience with me. If possible, step
by step procedures will be most useful to me (as u can tell, I am
inexperience in AIX).
