We are trying to run nfs from our RS/6000 with aix 4.1. We are able to
export the directory properly and see it from our pc's but there seems
to be a permission problem -- we are not allowed to access the directory
--even if we try to log in as root. I have looked throught the nfs setup
for that directory and cannot see anything obvious that is stopping
access. Any help appreciated.

I just added two ultra 10's with solaris 2.7 to my lan of three other ultra 30's also running 2.7.
I have extra drives on each shared with the other computers on the network. one of the ultra 30's
cannot nfs mount a drive on either of the two ultra 10s. The other ultra 30's have no problem and
each one of their names is listed in the dfstab file on the ultra10s. nfs mount fails with a
permission denied error. i can't seem to locate the problem since each ultra 30's configuration
seems the same. I also notice that i cannot rlogin from the same problem computer to the ultra
10. I have set the same hosts.equiv file for each computer on the network but this one computer
is having problems. It can connect find (nfs and rlogin) to the other ultra 30's but not to the
ultra 10. Is there something i am missing here? Are these two problems related? Any suggestion
would be greatly appreciated.
