FYI...

  It is possible to install a 220 from scratch, booting from a
3rd party 8mm drive. No more having to find an IBM tape to start
installing :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

 and :-) :-) :-)

(Wonder if this now works on other models.....)

Yes, it's possible.  I've done two weeks ago.
A plain vanilla Exabyte 8200 (taken from a Sun SLC) and the new
220.  They worked really fine.

BTW, the 220 has a 160Mb disk, so I managed a "remote \usr"
installation.  Wow, is was *fast*! :-)
