Hi,

I am wondering if one can boot a RS6000 box using a non-IBM cdrom drive???
Like a regular SCSI drive for Mac or a Sun cdrom drive?????

Thanks,

1. Booting from non-IBM CDROM

Apologies if this is going over familiar ground, but I have about 6 SCSI
CDROMS, some made (apparently) by IBM, some not.

Only 1 of these beasts will boot on an RS/6000.

Has anybody got to the bottom of whatever magic incantation is needed to
make the others boot?

Many thanks,

Jim Abbey
