Post by Gerhard A. Bartosc » Tue, 13 Jul 1999 04:00:00

Hello Everyone!

At our customer's side we have serveral AIX server running.

The 2 domain Server are on oslevel 4.2.1

Since last week they have 2 new AIX 4.3.1 server running.
From time to time it happens, that from these two server you have big
time outs when you start a telnet ,rlogin, rsh, ftp...

When you cancel the named daemon and restart it on the nameserver all
works fine again til to the next time out problems.

Has someone an idea, what ou problem could be?

Is there a compatibility problem between AIX 4.2.1 and AIX 4.3.1?

Kind regards ... Gerhard Bartosch

Starting with AIX 4.3, IPV6 is supported by AIX.
Edit your /etc/netsvc.conf with hosts=local,bind4 or update to the
latest level of AIX.
