Cable pin-out for Serial Port fanout cable

Cable pin-out for Serial Port fanout cable

Post by Michael Charri » Sun, 23 Apr 2000 04:00:00

Hi!
I have recently purchased a 7006-42T and need the serial port fanout cable (FC
3107, PN 31F4590).  I'd rather build the cable myself than pay $150.00 for it
(lowest price a reseller offered it at).  Does anyone know the pinout of this
cable?
Thanks!

Here are two old postings on this subject.  I'm including both because of
the slightly different comments about DTR on serial port 2:

Yeah, but this way they can sell a custom cable that nobody has!
Remember the 10-pin modular on the RT and early 6000's?

Anyway, here they are.  Hope this helps.  Maybe this should be in the FAQ?

here we go:

3               RD 1

5               CTS 1

19              RTS 2
20              DTR 1
22              RI 1
--------------------------------
thats the pinout of the serial port connector. It should be easy
to make an adapter. Keep in mind that only Port 1 have DTR if
you want to connect a modem.

PS: 1 is for s0 and 2 is for s1.
