Hello,

i have installed AIX 5L with the default langauge settings. Now i want
to use a german keyboard. I have tried to change the console language
with smit but without success.

Hi,

where did you change the language?

I do not have access to AIX 5L at the moment, but I assume it should be
nearly the same as in AIX 4.3.

smit
System Environments
Manage Language Environment
Change/Show Primary Language Environment
Select Set of Cultural Convention, Language, and Keyboard

then reboot.

Note:
This changes the keyboard only for AIX, i.e. during the boot phase it
may still be wrong. You would have to change this in Open Firmware or
... depending on your HW.
