Hi,

Does AIX operating system run on Intel X86 based
systems, like PCs?

Besides RS6000 based hardware platforms, what other hardware
platforms does AIX OS run on (like HP PA-RISC, SUN Spark)?

Thanks in advance,
Ramaswamy.

No, No, No.  Runs on RS/6000's, and one model of Macintosh with a PowerPC
processor.

True, now.  There used to be AIX for PCs, but that was a long time ago, in
a galaxy far, far away...

On the horizen is Project Monteray.  This is joint working between IBM, SCO
and a few others to produce a cross platform (RS/6000 & Intel & Others)
version of  unix.
