Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone here is running a proxy server on aix? And if so,
are you doing it transparently?

Thanks

I used to run Squid on AIX. It has been up for a couple of years.
What do you mean with transparently?

1. Writer wants a bit of help (a bit off topic)

It's not important who I am or whom I write for. What IS important is that
I want to write a column about Linux. For many years now I have done a
weekly article called "A Saturday Rant"
(see http://www.adams-blake.com/item.asp?recordid=bookmain&default=itemlist
if interested) which goes to about 7,000 book and magazine publishers. I'm
well-known in this industry sector (but not always well liked!!)

The audience is a sophisticated group of people but many (most?)  don't
have much of an expertise in computer technology. I want to do a piece on
how Linux can benefit them, how it costs less, and how it's not any harder
than WinX.

I want to refer them to a web site or two that has an EASY TO UNDERSTAND
story about Linux, how to get it, what to expect, where to get help, and
WHY they should bother.... material that will help back up my article.

I know there are a lot of websites out there, but which one would YOU send
a rank newbie to in order to learn about Linux and which would help people
get started?

I want to present Linux in a good light and provide people with a path
toward adopting it. I can write the article to convince them to take a
look. (I'm really not a bad writer.) But where would  you suggest I send
them for more information?

Thank you for your help. I'm new to Linux myself and I marvel at how
helpful the "community" has been in answering my own questions about this
platform. Mabye via this article I can "give back" a little.
