Hi everyone  I am new to AIX, I am trying to create a backup with
mksysb on Aix 4.3, but when I perform the command "mksysb -X -m -i
/dev/rmt0" I receive the following error:

/dev/ipldevice not found

0301-150 bosboot: Invalid or no boot device specified!
usage:  bosboot {-a | -v} [-d device] [-p proto] [-k kernel] [-l
lvdev]
                   [-b file] [-M serv|norm|both] [-D|-I] [-LOTUq]
        bosboot -w file [-d device] [-q]
        bosboot -r file [-d device] [-l lvdev] [-M serv|norm|both]
[-q]
        Where:
-a              Create boot image and write to device or file.
-w file         Copy given boot image file to device.
-r file         Create ROS emulation network boot image.
-v              Verify, but do not build boot image.
-d device       Device for which to create the boot image.
        -U              Create uncompressed boot image.
-p proto        Use given proto file for RAM disk file system.
-k kernel       Use given kernel file for boot image.
-l lvdev        Target boot logical volume for boot image.
-b file         Use given file name for boot image name.
        -D              Load Low Level De*.
-I              Load and Invoke Low Level De*.
-M norm|serv|both       Boot mode - normal or service.
-O offset       boot image offset for CDROM file system.
-T platform     Specifies the hardware platform type.
-q              Query disk space required to create boot
image.
        -L              Enable MP locks instrumentation.

Creating information file (/image.data) for rootvg..

Creating tape boot image.0518-402 odmadd:  Cannot open class:  CuDvDr,
stanza li
ne: 2
        Check path name and permissions.

0301-154 bosboot: missing proto file: /tmp/boot_ODM/CuAt

0512-016 mksysb: Attempt to create a bootable tape failed:
        bosboot -d /dev/rmt0.1 -a failed with return code 41.

I have checked the presence of /dev/ipldevice and there is not.
Someone idea of thing has be able be happen and eventually as to make

Sorry that should have been bootinfo -b to show last boot device.

/dev/ipldevice should be a hardlink to whatever device you last booted
from.
Use bosboot -b to determine what that device was and relink.
eg, if bosboot -b returns hdisk0 then:
ln /dev/rhdisk0 /dev/ipldevice
