If anyone has had any luck with the above printer or knows where I might
get a driver for it, I'd appreciate hearing from you.  Thanks.

If your problem is that you can't get color, we had something similar.
Just connect the printer to the parallel port, and add it to the
system as 'other parallel printer'. Define a virtual printer queue
for it.
Now the trick is to print to it using: enq -d p <file>
(not sure about the option, the intention is to let it print
without doing any translations, see the enq manual page).
I think it also works by editting the /etc/qconfig file and add
the '-d p' option to the piobe backend.

I guess I should have said a bit more about the above trouble I'm having.
I need to use the HP Deskjet 550C to do screen dumps.  Currently, I have
only been able to print text.  I have tried using the HP LaserJet drivers
included with AIX, but I only get blank paper back from the printer from
graphics screens.

What I did was to set the printer = to HP LaserJet III.  And configured the
virtual printer likewise.  This failed miserably.  Some sent a short
note saying to set the printer up as "other parallel printer, and to create
a virual printer for it.  But I'm not sure what to set the virtual printer
to...  A walk through of the procedures I might try to get this printer working
would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
