Installing AIX 4.1.4 on 7011 220

I have now for some days been trying to replace (completely overwrite
not migrate) our AIX 3.2.5 with a AIX 4.1.4 on a RS/6000 7011 model
220.

The installation is from a CD-ROM and the installation progresses OK
until exactely 36% of the installation is complete. At this time the
system stalls. The LED says c54 while the display says it is "turbo
installing".

The question is: Is the cause of the stall that our system is
incapable of being upgraded to AIX 4.1.4 ?? Do we need to replace the
system planar (much more expensive than the new OS itself) ?? Have
anyone had similar problems with installation of AIX 4.1.4 ??
