I was running into the same problem and I found some helpful documentation
on the HP website.  Go to the following URL
http://www.hp.com/cposupport/prodhome/hpsurestor9638.html  scroll down, and
in the HP Customer Care search field put in AIX.  It should bring up some
relevant documentation.
