Hi,

I am trying to list the contents of a library libc.a

ar -t -v libc.a

error message is

ar:Error 0
ar:0707-106 Internal error while reading the fixed header of archive file
libc.a

I have gone through the man pages and cant work out what is going wrong. i
have tried the -X32_64 flag.

_IF_ ar doesn't also fail on other archives, it's probably safe to
conclude that the archive is corrupt, or there's a filesystem problem.
The ar command wasn't able to read even bytes enough for the small
archive header. Don't reboot the machine until you fix it, perhaps
by copying the file or retrieving a copy from an update or install
image.
