Hi there,

Trying to start up my box (old MCA model, 590), it hangs almost
immediately. It runs through the following codes after startup:

120 - 124 - *20

The first digit of the last code isn't an '*', but the bottomhalf of a
'0' in the top part of the LED, if this makes sense :-)

It seems there's a probelm with the NVRAM, but does anyone know what
this '*20' actually means?

Seems the display is not functioning correctly.
The proper LED code is 420.
Although I still haven't got a clue ....

The 4xx Codes aren't documented. I once had a 420 with my RS/6000-C10 when
the CPU Board wasn't seated properly.
Try to disassemble the machine and clean it properly. Blow the dust out of
all PCB connectors and reassemble it again.

Check the Fan on the internal Hard disk bays. I had once this problem
when the
first hard disk fan is bad it shows 200, 400 for 2nd ...
