by Can anyone help with my problem with the mail cmd and the DEAD env var
to change directory of dead.letter.
On my system the dead.letter will not go to directory specified in
DEAD variable (AIX4.3)
I did the following:
/home/user1> export DEAD=/home/logger/mail/logs
/home/user1> mail someone
next type some *en press ctrl^d. The following appears:
/home/user1> someone... User unknown
/home/user1/dead.letter... Saved message in /home/user1/dead.letter
I have read and write permission in every directory mentioned here.
I just can't get the mail deamon to place the dead.letter somewhere
else.
Can somebody help?
(AIX4.3.3.0 RS6000)
