Hi,
On AIX 4.3: Does anybody know how to put a limitation to the memory used by
a unix-id instead of memory used by a PID.
Thanks in advance,
Mario Hockx

1. User IDs on Solaris & POSIX imposed limitations
Soes anyone know for sure what the max UID in the password file is under
Solaris 2.6? What are the hard and soft limits for number of users under
NIS or NIS+?
I am trying to design a system that uses e-mail addresses to store and
forward beeper(pager) messages to well over 2 million users. I know that
the UID is 4 bytes under Solaris (and almost all other *nix's) but POSIX
imposes a 60,000 user limit. Does Solaris naturally get around this? I
plan to use multiple systems with NIS for authentication and NFS mounts
to lots of NetApp boxes. Will this work?
Thanks
