Kernel extension compile flags

Kernel extension compile flags

Hi,

I wrote a kernel extension (device driver),
meant for 4.3 and 5.1, supporting multi
processors.

But I'm confused with the compiler options and
which defines I should use.

E.g. there is a #ifdef in the system header files
for _POWER_MP and in other Makefiles I saw many
-D options like _AIX, POWER_RS, etc...

Is there a reference out there on how and when to use
these definitions ?
Do I need to recompile the extension with different
defines when I want to switch from uni-processor to
multi-processor ?

I hope someone can give me any hint.

Thanx,
Armin
