How to resize disk space limits?

Post by Bernd Czy » Fri, 20 Jul 2001 18:38:38

Hello!
I need to enlarge the limits on a mounted drive under AIX and therefore
I set fsize and core in the /etc/security/limits to higher values for
the default user. But when I try to tar data I get the following error
message from tar:
tar: 0511-194 Reached end-of-file before expected.

The free disk space is large enough to hold all data of course.
Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot, Bernd

is the tar file over 2Gb. in which case the fs would have to be large file
enabled.
also you need to log out and back in after changing the limits

** please show us a sample of the tar command you are using.
It sounds like you are taring a directory and creating the tar file in
the same directory.

1. Resizing space of paging space

Hi,

i would like to reduce the size of my paging space (AIX 4.2) which is by
default hd6.
I have tried to create a new paging space and this one should be the only
paging
space. But always hd6 is aktivated afer a reboot. So there seems to be no way
to
delete it.
Any help?
