upgrading aix ....

Hi,

last week I tried to upgrade a customer's machine from 4.3.?? to
4.3.3, went to http://techsupport.services.ibm.com/rs6k/ml.fixes.html
and selected the option to go from 4.3.0 to 4.3.3, after downloading
the 850+MB we applied the ptfs, it turns out that the machine got
corrupted and had to restore from mksysb. the problem turned to be in
ksh not finding library calls in libc.a.

After updating the OS lots of filesets were left at the original 4.3.0
level, I searched for the fixes from the files I got from
techsupport.services.ibm.com and they were not present although fixes
for those filesets are available.

has anyone successfully applied those filesets?

regards,
esv.

Hi,

I would like to upgrade my AIX-level on a model 520h RS/6000 running AIX
3.2.5. (32MB ram 3 GB Harddisk) I'am trying to find out if it is possible to
run AIX 4.2.x or AIX 4.3.x on a model 520h. Next to this I would like know
if there are experiences with building a none IBM-cdrom into this machine.
