Imake and Xmkmf - Hello, IBM???

Imake and Xmkmf - Hello, IBM???

Post by Thomas J Cozzolin » Wed, 22 Jul 1992 21:55:07

Does anyone know where Imake and/or xmkmf are, and to how to use them under
AIX 3.2?

No one from IBM seems able to tell me where the source or binaries are;  I need
to build some Public-domain code and would dearly like to get this capability
on AIX.  Geez, we waited *long enough* for R4, I figured that Imake/xmkmf would
be included, too.  I was mistaken.

Any help is appreciated; I will post the answer if I get one..

Thanks.

They're hiding in /usr/lpp/X11/Xamples/config.  The IBM X folks elected
not to support imake/xmkmf (not support == don't test, don't ship binaries,
don't fix bugs), but source code is there.

Hope this helps,

Marc

1. XMKMF and IMAKE want Imake.tmpl

--
I can't seem to compile any X11R5 stuff. My xmkmf and imake programs search
for a file called Imake.tmpl. I don't have one and would really like one. I
have installed on my machine Slackware 1.1.1 dist. and would like to know
what disk set this came on. If I am missing this file, I may be missing more.
I'd like to get everything covered. Anyone know where to find the file?
