aixmibd logs makes /var/ fs full very quickly...

Post by And » Tue, 08 Jul 2003 23:32:36

Hello All,

Could anyone please tell me if it is save to disable "aixmibd" in AIX
5.2.
Or maybe tell me how to stop huge number of errors logging to
/var/tmp/* ?
What is wrong with the SNMP agent? - Default configuration...

/etc/snmpd.conf was not customized after installation.

thanks in advance,
And.

1. How large can /var/log/messages and /var/log/syslog get ?

My /var/log/messages is now over 3 meg, and my syslog is 200+ k. I'm
very curious how far is this going to go ?
Is there a way to restrict their sizes ?

cheers,
Hong Siang.
